Sorry to be late :S (christmas and familly duty)
Ok, There is a problem with my last change on SSH command :S I'll correct that in the version I release today ;)
(For the other error : it's due to the server migration. Normally all is ok right now ;) )
The new updated fixed all of the issues for me, thank you very much. :)
Also is there a list that tells what the "profiles" are? I don't understand the difference between
Retropie (Mix) and Retropie [Rom folder] (Mix) -
Last night, I was using the scraper for the whole night (full system scrap). After getting up this morning, I saw the software crashed and did about 30% of the job. Nothing updated on retropie.
Now I try to restart the software, but everytime I get an "Universal XML Scraper fatal error! (err_SystemList)
Tried rebooting, redownloading, deleting settings files, still can't get the software to launch anymore.
Any idea ?
Thanks

I just started using this scraper yesterday, and everything seemed fine, I tried to run it this morning, and I get the same error.
-
@detron I also am having the same problem. Started to scan all systems last night and woke up it only did afew systems. when i restarted the XML Scraper it gave me that "Universal XML Scraper fatal error! (err_SystemList).
Now I cant even run the program to finish scraping. -
@SpaceSocks Yea I just reimaged my Pie SD Card Fresh Install. Redownloaded Universal_XML_Scraper64.exe. Still get the "Universal XML Scraper fatal error! (err_SystemList) error at program launch. cant even run it :/
-
@SpaceSocks I tried to create a new Thread In Help & Support but i wasn't able to. Someone else think this is a good idea?
-
@detron @vric I started a new Thread for this Problem in Help & Support -

I experimented a bit yesterday with the Scraper and using the MD5 hashing for Sega CD. It seemed to work, but gave a timeout error after every single file. Maybe it wasn't really working, and the results it found was through a name search.

Hello
I can't make it work sadly.
The ES is well killed (I presume) , paths are correct (I choosed the rom path for gamelist and downloaded images) but here is the result of scrapping :
This is for n64 but it's the same for all systems
Do you know what I'm doing wrong ?
Thanks.
-
@Lok i have the same problem
-
Ok, I've read the thread you opened. If you sign up for free at http://www.screenscraper.fr it will work.
Thanks by the way.

Same problem... 3 days now and I cannot scrap my rom into Retropie with the Universal Scraper...
What the problem???
-
Sorry.
We migrate both server and new website/db version at the same time...
And it wasn't a good Idea at the end of year (a lot's of new user)
So we had massive request on the new server aren't really ready for such a huge number of scraper..
We are working hard to gain back stability. And it seems it's going well today.
I can go back to UXS and correct some "new" probleme introduced with the new version..
But for information, the new DB allow more things and new data / media so you can see very soon the new improvement... (exemple : we already have some Brazilian media, and now UK isn't the same as US)
Thank you for your patience. We are doing what we can ;)

Are you guys running the scraper from a virtual machine? I had this problem using the app on windows 10 on my mac with VMware fusion. I just now tried running it from my real PC and it's working perfect.

@vbs If that's the case, I'll just stick with my current batch of scrapes until
Carbon
is updated to allow videos. Because I have a bunch of systems installed on my RetroPie, I pretty much have to useCarbon
. I don't like it, but it's the only theme that seems to work.Carbon theme with video support:

Is there any way so that the images of arcade are not antialiased? I tried forcing them to be downloaded in .png but they still are, and it looks awful since I only want to grab the thumbnail with no logo and the game doesn't look nearly as clear with all that "jpg" kind of compression on the borders... or are they this way on the database?

Awesome!! I'll give this a go on my next day off... Does this also include the added tags that are in the kids version of EmulationStation? If not, no biggie!

@hansolo77 I suposse it has i only downloaded carbon from github and i added video support...
-
@firewater what do you meen by antialiased ?
By default, MIX template use a png compression at the end of scrape. It may be that.
you can de-activate compression by editing the config.xml in the template you use by putting "false" on the <compression> node

@screech I've looked at the site and it seems that all images for arcade are like this from the database. So what I mean was that, this is how they look for arcade, and this is how it looks for a game on GBA. You can clearly see one has the pixels as presented on the game and the other has a bilinear filter on them (which looks awful, in my opinion).
