Problem connecting to Wifi
-
Hi guys,
Just experiencing some difficulties that are most likely easy to solve but I can't seem to figure them out.
Connecting to wifi:
I live on campus so in order to connect online I need a username (student number) and password. unfortunately, the pi only seems to request a password, any way around this?
Loading themes, experimental and optional packages:
This problem has driven me insane trying to figure out when I go through the motion of installing them either nothing happens or I get error messages such as these.

Pi Model: 3B
RetroPie Version Used: 4.1
Built From: Retropie image
Controller used: xbox 360, playstation 3It's probably something really simple too, but I can't seem to figure it out. Let me know if you want more info?

@Leo The topic title should be used to describe your problem. If you are posting in the "Help and Support" section, there's no need to put it in the topic.
I'm not really sure, but it seems that the campus use web proxies to allow students use the web. And AFAIK the RetroPie-Setup scripts need direct connection to the internet to let you update stuff.

I agree with @meleu... I couldn't get my setup to install/update anything until I was fully connected to the internet. Luckily for me, my router is just password locked. You'll need to figure out how to set a username/password combination and get online before you can setup and install any extra packages. If you don't need it always online, you could probably just piggy-back off a laptop or something to get the extra stuff.

I renamed the topic.

I have a Raspberry Pi 3 B running Retropie 4.6. I am able to connect to my WiFi without a problem but I cannot download or update packages. I get a fatal error "failed to connect to ghub. I have tried everything to get it to work so if anyone has a cure please let me know.

@K-Richardoson Please open a new topic, don't necro-post by resurrecting 3 years old posts.

It will not let me post a new topic. It keeps giving me a tag error.

@K-Richardoson because you didn't enter any tags (keywords) in the area under the post.
