Hi everybody! My very first attempt at a theme is done enough to call it 1.0 and put it out there! If you didn't catch the preview here's a quick explanation:

      • Overall larger text for living room scale, widescreen displays
      • A simple and clean design with larger boxart and maximized metadata
      • As small a file size as I can manage (currently just over 4mb)
      • A unique design for each system/platform

Currently it covers 60+ platforms and has a lot of unique logos. You can read a lot more about the ideas behind the design or just see a bunch of screenshots in this imgur gallery or the video below.

      Two Versions

Early on I skipped the user metadata (rating, times played, last played) but had some requests to incorporate it and I wound up making 2 versions so you can take your pick!

Striation WITH User Metadata on: Github or Dropbox (Zip File)

Striation WITHOUT User Metadata on: Github or Dropbox (Zip File)

Thanks for taking a look and big, BIG thanks to @mattrixk , @herb_fargus and @Rookervik for answering noob questions along the way! Let me know what you think or problems you run into if you check it out.

Windows ES doesn't display SVG strokes. You can outline strokes on SVGs and they will display properly on the Windows ES. I go ahead and outline strokes because my themes are used on Recalbox, Pipplware, and Windows. Those aren't going to have the ability to display outlines.

@Rookervik ooooh, I thought it was only the portable ES that didn't display the strokes which is where I tested most everything. I did turn a lot of strokes into paths/objects but not all of them.

Is this available through the Emulationstation theme downloader? Or only the Dropbox links in the first post?

@robertybob as far as I know it's set up for it to appear in the RetroPie menu but I don't know if anything else needs to happen for it to show up there. For sure it works to copy it over manually via FTP, that's the way I did it.
