My 4-year-old daughter's favorite game ever is Bubble Bobble II ("the one with the pink one"), and now that I've converted my 15-year-old mamecab over to using an RPi and RetroPie, I'm noticing this is the only game we play regularly that has performance issues.

Anybody know why this game is played so poorly on lr-mame2003, when games like Street Fighter Alpha 3, etc. play just fine?

      Pi Model: 3
      RetroPie Version Used: 4.01
Built From: (Pre made SD Image on RetroPie website)
      USB Devices connected: ipac
Controller used: ipac / arcade buttons
      File: bublbob2
      Emulator: lr-mame2003
How to replicate the problem: play bublbob2

@FarrisGoldstein It runs pretty decent in AdvanceMAME.

It runs a little better in advmame, but the speed fluctuates, and so the pitch of the music is kinda creepy. :)

@FarrisGoldstein I should have mentioned AdvMAME 0.94, not version 1.4.
