I currently have a camcorder battery rated at 7.4v 2500 mAh, and have that running through a 7805 regulator, and planned on using this to power my pi for a portable project, but when I tested the voltage with a multimeter, it is saying it has an output of 6.7 v. Will that number drop if I plugged it into the pi, or will it just ruin the pi? Is the 7805 defective or something?

Never mind, I got it hooked up correctly, and now it outputs the proper 5v, so all is well!
