Might be a topic for a Pi forum but you guys have been so helpful in the past and its Arcade related so thought I'd ask.

When i was first setting up my arcade i had everything working but when it came to the controls i opted for a GPIO setup. Somewhere along the way i think i connect two incorrect pins and killed the Pi. There was no magic smoke or anything like that but it no longer powers up. I didnt explore it much more than than and just grabbed myself a new Pi and continued on... but now that ive got the bug I'm keen to make another so thought there might be some way to resurrect the old one or at the very least give it a proper testing to see whats what.

My question is what steps would i take to see if its proper doneski or...? Is connecting two incorrect GPIO pins likely to kill it? Given it wont power up I'm thinking thats pretty critical.

Thanks very much in advance oh oracle of arcade goodness. :)
