I cannot use this system correctly.
-
Hello, I am trying to work with Retropie, but I cannot. I am going to tell what I do, and what happens me:
I have a Raspberry pi 3.
I use a 8GB micro SD.
I use the image downloaded here https://retropie.org.uk/download/ (for pi3, obviously)
I have a USB (32GB), with the roms at the right folders.
I have a USB keyboard. It USUALLY works in Retropie, and ALWAYS works in other Raspberry systems.I install it on my MicroSD, using Win 32 Disk Imager.
I go to my Raspberry. I start it. Games doesn´t appear.
Then, I configure my Wifi connection. It works.
Then, I choose "Basic Install" at the Setup Menu. It works.
Then, I choose "update all packages", it works. This takes about 2 or 3 hours.
Then, I go to /boot/config.txt, to enable HDMI sound. It works. Then, I have the games I had at my USB and I can play them.
Then, I have two different problems.
Problem number 1:
When I try to reboot the Raspberry, the graphic interface disappear, and then appears a command console. I would have to make "sudo reboot" or "sudo poweroff", but then, the system doesn´t detect my keyboard. (It worked before, for example when I wrote my wifi pass, then I know it is not a keyboard problem, and I tried with different keyboards).
If i unplug the power wire, (I haven´t another chance), then it has two options when I plug it again. The system doesn´t work, NOTHING, or the systems starts, and it takes me to the console menu again, and again it doesn´t detect my keyboard. Is a loop.Problem number 2:
When Retropie works, and I have the games at my MicroSD, the Wifi configured, and Audio enabled, I want to make a backup. For that, I use Win32 Disk Imager. I connect my microSD to the computer, and select "Read" option. That creates a image at my computer. After that moment, Retropie doesn´t work. And if I try to write on the microSD (after format it), the image I read, it doesn´t work too.I have try to install other system on that MicroSD, and it works fine.
Some idea about what can I do, or what am I doing wrong? If I have to add some detail for you could to help me, just say it.
Thank you so much.
Sorry for my english, it is not my mattern language.

I would have to make "sudo reboot" or "sudo poweroff", but then, the system doesn´t detect my keyboard.I can confirm this is a common problem - especially when the program encounters a fault and exits to terminal. To properly shut down the computer I have to SSH into it and "reboot" since you can't use the keyboard hooked up to the Pi anymore at that point.
...can't help you with how to fix it I'm sorry to day.
