Buffalo classic SNES controller hit or miss working
-
I recently a got pie and installed the 4.1 and some nes and snes roms. I didnt change anything as far as emulators etc. I just let it play whatever one it chose. I tried super mario on nes and super mario kart on snes and both games play horrible. Like i have to push the a or b buttons twice or more to get it to respond. It just seems awful and unplayable. Im wondering if its the controller having issues or do I need to do something else to set up controller other than the initial setup from when i first plugged the controller in.

I take it you don't have another controller to try? I really don't know how to isolate it to the controller itself being the problem, or the software. Maybe try the controller on your computer - if the button presses seem to work perfectly there I would assume the controller itself is working then you can focus on what the problem would be on the software side.

@Dochartaigh thank u. I have a USB nes controller coming Saturday to try.

Let me know, I have 2 of these ordered through Amazon as we speak, I can return them and save my time.

They're generally thought of as the best USB replica of the SNES controller. TONS of people like them. Mine has been fine in Retropie 4.1.X.

@Dochartaigh Okay, thank you, I got my first build of Retropie installed this week and have been playing using a keyboard, so anything would be a step up. ;-) Thanks for response. Working on Kodi setup now, cheers.

@Dochartaigh yep thats why i ordered it. Im sure its either the one i got or ive done something wrong.

@ckylesworld I got the Buffalo controller too; slightly "soft" dpad but generally happy about how it works with Retropie 4.1.
