      Can anyone help me with booting off USB I could not find the old page with the write up on how to do so. any help would be much appreciated

        I don't believe it's possible with a USB by itself. You can however put the RetroPIe partition onto a USB drive, but as far as I'm aware the Boot partition needs to be on an SD card.

        One way(probably not the best) to do this is BerryBoot. Just have to extract the berryboot files into a FAT32 formatted SD card(can be like 1gb). Then from there you can install operating systems onto your USB.

          here you go... still need an SD card, but just to boot, rest runs from usb drive...
