@amadvance Hello, does hi score saves work with AdvanceMame? I assume I need a .dat file. Where do I put it :)

        Thanks!

Yes. You need the hiscore.dat file.

You can put it in $HOME/.advance/ or in /usr/local/share/advance/

@amadvance said in AdvanceMame Hi-score save:

            hiscore.dat

Is it the same hiscore.dat file that works with mame2003? If not where can the .dat file be located?

You'll need the older format, pre v0174. It can be found here.

This didn't work in my case.
I recognized that putting the Highscore.dat in. /.advance makes no effect (using AdvanceMame 3.4). This folder seems to be untouched anyway, in fact all the .hi &. Nvram Files are saved directly in the ROM-Folder.

So i searched on and found the regular Highscore.dat in /opt/retropie/emulators /advmame/share/advance.

This seems to be the right place to put another Highscore.dat and the downloaded pre0.174-File is indeed bigger than the default one.

Only remaining Problem for me: i cannot copy in this folder, tells me "Permission denied (13)" :(

What can i do to get the Permission to overwrite the dat-File in this folder?
                Thanks a lot in advance!

I would just push the file over to somewhere you can read (like /home/pi/) and then SSH in and manually move it using the command line.

                  Example:

sudo mv /home/pi/**WHAT EVER THE FILENAME IS HERE** /opt/retropie/emulators/advmame/share/advance/

@backstander if you give user root a password , then on your ssh program you just log in as root and you can dump the files anywhere on the pi without getting permissions denied.
