VICE Emulator Won't Start
-
I have installed the VICE emulator. It installed without complaint, and once I placed some images, they showed up in the UI. But when I load one of them (any of them, I tried several), I get the usual 'runcommand' prompt and then the emulator returns straight back to the Retropie UI a few seconds later as if nothing had happened - no error - the emulator simply does not start.
I checked the runcommand.log and the following text serves as my only clue:
# code block /opt/retropie/emulators/vice/bin/x64: error while loading shared libraries: libpcap.so.0.8: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Can't find any error on here referring to libpcap - whilst I know my way round emulators well enough, I'm new to the Linux technicalities and simply Googling for it hasn't yielded anything I can relate to this specific error.
Essentials:
Raspberry Pi 3 Model B
Retropie 4.0.2, installed as multi-book pack from here:
http://www.multibootpi.com/builds/retropie-v4-0-2-raspbian-kodi-libreelec-openelec-or-osmc-you-decide/
All emulators were updated post-installation
Generic USB game controllers and keyboard/touchpad connected. -
@TerminatesHere update retropie-setup and vice. It's been fixed some time ago.

Thanks - updating VICE on it's own didn't work (I tried that) but updating the retropie-setup script first, then VICE, seemed to do the job.
