Cant update retropie_setup script
-
Hey there
I just loaded 3.7 image onto a card and tried to set up retropie. Had immediate difficulties pairing my PS3 controller and for some reason also cannot update the setup script:
Errormessage:
Update failed: │

│ fatal: unable to access │
│ server certificate verification failed. CAfile: │
│ /etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt CRLfile: noneTried googling for a fix to no avail, also tried loading 3.6 image.
Can anyone help? Thanks in advance! :)

You might consider that the sd card could be broken if you've tried re-writing the image multiple times.
But your SD Card also needs to be green on the list below. -
@pjamp I had a similar problem just recently trying to update RetroPie themes. Make sure your time and date is correct. The ssl certs will fail otherwise. I was using the wifi built into the Pi3 and I was connecting to the internet but it would not set the time. What I did find is if I connected to the internet using an ethernet cable the time would correct. Use F4 to get to the command line and type in 'date' and the date and time will show. If you will be using wifi and need the time to sync up let me know and I will post info on how to make it permanent.

@glennlake That was exactly the problem! For some reason my time isn't set either, even though im using cabled connection.
Oh well, thats a problem I'm willing to overlook for now..
Thanks!
