Doom (port), Spinning in circles
-
Hey guys. I'm having issues playing the Doom port on my Retropie.
I'm trying to use a PS4 controller, but everytime I start the game (I can only navigate menus with the keyboard, another issue), my character just spins in circles.
Any thoughts on how to fix this?
Detlails:
Rom is the Zdoom running on the default emulator on a Raspberry pi 3 model b. Built from Retropie 4.1 ISO from the site. I'm not getting any error messages.
I think I've included all relevant information.
Thanks in advance! -

@BuZz Sorry about that. This is my first post and I missed that detail. Thanks!

@dirthurts when it boots does it say the emulator is lr-prboom or zdoom?
-
@edmaul69 I'm 90% sure it's the Zdoom emulator. I'll double check when I get in, but I'm fairly certain that was my only option.

@dirthurts i believe it is as well because it did it for me when i tried to enable the controller on zdoom. Im going to try to mess with it some more to see if i can figure it out.

@edmaul69 Thanks for helping out. Hopefull someone smarter than me can get it sorted. I thought it might be some calibration issue with the joystick? But I couldn't find a way to mess with it.
I'm very, very new to the Raspberry Pi scene and I'm just now teaching myself java. -
@dirthurts so here is how you fix it. You need to go into options then joystick options. Before turning on the joystick go into all the joysticks listed that you are not going to use and change all the axis to none. Then go into your controller you are going to use and change the axis' you arent using to none. Even though my controller list an axis 5 & 6 i dont have them on my controller so i set them to none. Once you have done that you can enable the joystick.

got the same issue, with "option" you mean inside doom menu right? not in retroarch settings right? thank you

@articoz yes in the doom game menu in zdoom. I had the same issue.

This worked for me too, but not under the DoomZ emulator for some reason. Anytime I have axis (5? I think) on, my character rotates left. But, the other emulator works great with this so I think I'm good to go.
Any way to get the classic doom music going in this game?
