No emulators/games are showing up
-
Hi!
I have a raspberry Pi 3. And installed the latest version of Retropie image (4.1). Followed the instruction in the youtube video.
I have manage to install a butch of diffent roms for diffent emulators like and this looks correct like
/home/pi/Retropie/roms/c64 for commodore 64 emulator (vice)
And also the emulators sems to be installed in opt/retropie/emulators/vice...
So why can't I get any emulators up in the menu??? I have spent the latest two days trying to navigation frustrating menus back and forth for an answer. Just about to give up.
Is the 3.8 version available somewhere? From the youtube video it look like in that version all the emulators where on by default. So maybe I can try that?

@Erlend I don't see how following the docs is so difficult?
-
But the emulators are installed.... Well at least the vice emulator for sure... And the games are in the correct folder.
It Works also if exit retropie and start it from the command line.
And it is difficult because I don't know what the emulator does...
Like it is not espesially intuitive that the vice emulator emulate commodore 64.... If you have never used the system before you will never know that.
-
@Erlend have you turned on parse gamelists only by accident in emulationstation? Please provide an example of a filename that's not showing up. Do you have a
/home/pi/.emulationstation/es_systems.cfg
file? If so, remove it. -

It's in the documentation and in the help text in the GUI.

No that file does not exist....
The is only a es_setting.cnf file and some emulators but not vice.
I'll think try to reinstall everything and start from scrats. The problem was that I started following the youtube guide which was for a preveius version and I have probably pressed somewhere i should not have done.
But right now I don't have the time to spend on it.
