      Pi: 3
      Built From: Pre made SD Image
      USB Devices Connected: iPac 2 Keyboard Controller
      Controller Used: iPad 2
      Error Messages: None

      I'm not entirely sure what's going on here and I'm at the end of a rope and looking for help. I'm not super linux savi but, I've been following various guides on getting the iPac2 keyboard emulator up and running. I have mame as an emulator that I've been testing with, I can launch games just fine but, it's almost like the retroarch.cfg file from /home/pi/opt/retropie/configs/all isn't being read/respected within the emulator. The emultator retroarch config is unchanged, and has the include statement for the global file. I'm really not sure where to go but, I can't seem to get my player 2 controls to work nor will it respect the entry I put in for input_exit_emulator = "escape". I've followed everything out there, no duplicate entries, hotkeys are disabled, etc.

      On one MAME game from /dev/shm/runcommand.log:

      Parameters:

      Executing: /opt/retropie/emulators/retroarch/bin/retroarch -L /opt/retropie/libretrocores/lr-mame2003/mame2003_libretro.so --config /opt/retropie/configs/mame-libretro/retroarch.cfg "/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/mame-libretro/alpine.zip" --appendconfig /dev/shm/retroarch.cfg

      From /dev/shm/retroarch.cfg:

      video_refresh_rate = 60

        I should have also said thanks in advance... I wish I had a better grasp of all this. Trying to switch from a PC to a Pi for simplicity sake hasn't turned out to be so simple. HAHA

          @horric29 Have you configured a keyboard first? As described in my post here....

            @rbaker I did not, saw your thread after the fact. Trying to figure out if it's best to backup my roms and just start over now that I have a full arcade cabinet and such to use this in. I was hoping there was a simple way to fix the install.

              So this seems to have worked out. I went ahead an updated the mini-pac firmware (thought I had an iPac 2, turns out that wasn't the case) to 1.44 sans Gamepad emulation. After that, no luck, I went ahead and backed up my roms and reimaged with a keyboard only, after the reimage, everything worked even in auto mode. It's now taking my retroarch configs per the doc no problem and I'm playing roms with two players. It would be nice to figure out how to get the trackball working in the menu's but, that's another search for another day. For now, I'm moving my roms back to the unit and I'll take an image of it to fall back to should anything else go wrong.

                @horric29 The iPacs seems to be configured as gamepads by default these days so with retropie, you have to either reflash the firmware so that it behaves as a keyboard encoder only which is what I wanted or get the keyboard working first then add the two player configs.
