@bisus Have you tried exiting ES, then deleting the xml (do a backup) from the /opt/retropie/configs/all/emulationstation/(systemname) and reboot?
(just make shure that Emulation Station parsing and saving on exit options are activated) -
@iconrumble said in xml missing mame-mame4all:

thanks for your answer, how do I check this is active ?
thanks -
@bisus
retropie 3.7 release notes: "Added “Other Settings” menu to Emulationstation with “save metadata on exit” and “parse gamelists only”. These options were added to mitigate the long boot and shutdown times with large romsets."if you didn't change it before, there's no need to worry. Default selection is metadata-on-exit ON, gamelists-only OFF (these are the setings you'll want)
Just don't forget to exit ES before deleting the xml, or else the loaded data will be written again to xml when exiting ES

strange but does not build the xml again after deleted ....is there any line command that could build the xml again ?
thanks -
@bisus well, if “save metadata on exit” option is active, it should write the xml when you exit ES...
maybe it's a config-folder permissions issue?
Have you tried scraping?
