How to get retroachievements working?...followed wiki instructions
-
Not sure if the no intro roms is an issue as i have no idea what that means personally. You can try a couple things. Go into the retropie menu and choose retropie setup. Then in there choose update retropie-setup. Then go into manage packages, chose core packages, then choose retroarch. Then choose to update retroarch from sourceThen when you are done you can exit out. If that doesnt fix it try putting your credentials in the individual supported consoles retroarch.cfg files.

I think you forgot the "Then update RetroArch from source" part. :-)
@fun4stuff please, launch retroarch with verbose logging and post your runcommand.log somewhere to get a proper support.
-
I'll post the log tonight after work.
I don't think I need to update though - just downloaded and installed 2 days ago from official source/RetroPie website.
I edited the Specific console retroarch config files, adding the cheevos username/password/etc as specified in the wiki. Still not quite working.
Maybe I'm editing the config file incorrectly....
I copy and pasted the 3 lines specified to the bottom of the config file. Do I leave the quotes?, e.g.
cheevos_username = "fun4stuff"
cheevos_password = "abcdef"
cheevos_enable = trueOr is it : cheevos_username = fun4stuff
Also does it matter if it is directly appended or so I simply copy/paste as shown above? E.g.
cheevos_username = "fun4stuff" cheevos_password = "abcdef" cheevos_enable = true -
@meleu yes i did. I fixed it for anyone else who stumbles across this thread.
-
so i looked at my /dev/shm/runcommand.log and the only thing in it is
"Parameters: 0 PORT kodi
Executing: kodi
Aborted (core dumped)
Crash report available at /home/pi/kodi_crashlog-20161231_220232.log"this was after enabling verbose logging in the runcommand menu (the menu you reach after hitting "a" before the game loads)
-
ok, i must have done something wrong previously. i now looked at the logged immediately after loading the super mario world with verbose logging. Here is the log:
"RetroArch [INFO] :: CHEEVOS testing SNES (8Mb padding).
RetroArch [INFO] :: CHEEVOS getting game id for hash c320cba1be26f303ba6f60d39ec39855
RetroArch [INFO] :: CHEEVOS got game id 228.
RetroArch [INFO] :: CHEEVOS got achievements for game id 228.
RetroArch [INFO] :: CHEEVOS deactivated unlocked achievements."So, it looks like it finds achievements for the game... but why won't it display them?
Also, when I go to my retroachievments profile on the web it lists when I have last logged, but says I have not played any game.
-
@fun4stuff update retroarch from source
-
ok i tried updating retroarch. It won't update. I get the error message "/home/pi/retropie-setup/scriptmodules/emulators/retroarch/01_hotkey_hack.diff failed to apply"
it then tells me to check a log file.
here is the contents of that log file: http://pastebin.com/uT7zcYZ3
thanks again
-
@fun4stuff ok i was able to update retroarch after updateing RetroPie-Setup... it's updating now...
-
@edmaul69 hmmph. Now my controllers do not work in the game. Only work at emulatiknstation menu.
-
@fun4stuff ok. Funny that obsidian spider has been having the same problem on x86. Try updating from binary and see if it fixes that.
-
@edmaul69
Thanks. Updating from binary fixed controller issue.Still lists "no achievements to display" under achievement list in retroarch. Now also lists "achievement list (hardcore)" even though hardcore is off. Didn't see that previously.
-
@fun4stuff can you post a log after updating?
-
@meleu which log file? i can't seem to find the runcommand.log. /dev/smh and /tmp/ are empty without any file or directories. This is after launching game with verbose logging.
-
@fun4stuff I mean
/dev/shm/runcommand.log
after enabling verbose logging on runcommand menu.
The same way you did above. -
@meleu
there is no longer any log file created./dev/shm/ is empty after enabling verbose logging.
nevermind. i tried an NES emulator rather than SNES and there now is a log:
-
I must be going crazy. Anyway, here is the log after running SNES emulator / rom with verbose logging. It appeared now. Not sure what I did differently.
now it says there are no achievements for this rom. it previously said there were achievements for this same rom.
the prior nes rom says there are achievements, but nothing is displayed in retroarch.
-
@fun4stuff for nes you need to use the emulator fceumm not nestopia. Nestopia does not have retroachievements.
-
@edmaul69
fceumm doesn't seem to be working. crashes back to emulationstation. -
@edmaul69 said in How to get retroachievements working?...followed wiki instructions:
Nestopia does not have retroachievements.
Are you sure? Nestopia is listed as being supported and although I'm not near my setup at the moment, I could swear they're active when I run it.
