      hi, i'm trying to use a keyboard with retropie and it doesn't seem to be responding to any keyboard inputs. the keyboard section (i think) of my retroarch.cfg (in /home/pi/RetroPie/configs/all) looks like this:

      # Keyboard input. Will recognize normal keypresses and special keys like "left", "right", and so on.

      # Keyboard input, Joypad and Joyaxis will all obey the "nul" bind, which disables the bind completely,

      # rather than relying on a default.

      input_player1_a = x

      input_player1_b = z

      input_player1_y = a

      input_player1_x = s

      input_player1_start = enter

      input_player1_select = rshift

      input_player1_l = q

      input_player1_r = w

      input_player1_left = left

      input_player1_right = right

      input_player1_up = up

      input_player1_down = down

      input_enable_hotkey_btn = rshift

      input_exit_emulator_btn = enter

      # input_player1_l2 =

      # input_player1_r2 =

      # input_player1_l3 =

      # input_player1_r3 =

      when emulation station starts though, i can't move left or right (can't get past the apple ii screen).

      i'm guessing this is something simple that i've done wrong. can anyone help? maybe i can provide my entire retroarch.cfg file if needed.

      the "!! READ THIS FIRST !!" post said i should provide this info:
      pi model: B
      power supply: mini usb 5v power supply
      retropie version: don't know - how can i find out? i installed it back in november 2013 and am trying to get back into it now
      usb devices connected: a hub with a wireless ethernet adapter and the wireless keyboard dongle connected

      thanks!

        It's impossible very hard to give support for such an old version. The path of the files have changed since 2013... My suggestion is to try a fresh install, but be sure to make a backup.

          Update your whole set up. I couldn't tell you what I had for Xmas dinner. Things change.

              ok, i updated to the latest version of retropie (v4.1, for pi 0/1) - when it gets to the emulationstation welcome screen, i held down "A" on my keyboard and was able to map each button to a key on the keyboard but i wasn't able to press "OK" at the end - how can i do this with the keyboard? something simple, i hope. thanks.

                @pajordan it's all in the install instructions. You press the button you configured as "a".

                  sorry, i tried that - maybe i need to hold it longer.

                  i'll try to read more instructions before posting. didn't see the instructions from the "download" page but i see now it's all in the "documentation" section (installing retropie - first installation). thanks!

                    @pajordan you dont need to hold it. Just press it once and wait a few seconds (as it does a few things in the background).

                      The instructions couldn't be much bigger on the download page - in bold
