      I've checked the file in /opt/retropie/configs/all and it is globally writable but whenever I try to make a change inside of retroarch and save it doesn't take. Is there something that I need to do in order to get this to save? Is it saving to a different place?

        If you are making the change in RGUI itself you may want to check this guide:
        If you change in RGUI it will write a file to /opt/retropie/configs/{systemname}/ (and it wont be read automatically for good reasons.

        You can of course edit the global retroarch.cfg directly if you want.

        Please read the Docs before asking a new question.

          I was trying to get the global settings changed, in this case, pulling up the menu, exit buttons, etc.

            @kruuth you can use the configuration editor:

              Thank you. I didn't see how to configure keyboard inputs on there but I'll look again. I think I missed it.

                @kruuth
                When in the config menu, try

                • Setup / Configuration
                • Edit RetroPie/Retroarch configurations
                • Advanced Configuration
                • Manually edit Retroarch configurations
                • /all/retroarch.cfg

                Please read the Docs before asking a new question.
