Powerblock - switch starts the pi then stops it
-
Hello,
I've got an issue with my switch.
I installed correctly the powerblock service.
Restarted the pi with the powerblock and the switch.
At startup, I have the message : a stop job is running for LSB powerblock init
Then the Pi stops.
It's my third install and don't know what to do.
Here is the switch I have : https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1-set-computer-Metal-LED-Power-Push-Button-Switch-On-off-5V-12mm-16mm-19mm-22mm/32721251668.html?spm=2114.13010608.0.0.5qlcNMThanks for your help.

looks like that is a momentary switch. You have to use a latching switch (either slide on slide off, or push-push). As soon as the script starts running, it notices the switch is not on and will assume you switched it back off and power down...

Thank you for your answer.
That's what I thought... But I did not understand the differences between the button types.
Now I have to find another button =) -
if you really like that switch, then you'll have to switch to the mausberry power control or the ATXRaspi. Both of which can use a momentary switch like that...
-
Just for your information: It is planned that an upcoming revision of the PowerBlock supports both types of buttons - latching and momentary.

Hello,
Thanks for your replies.
Do you have an idea when the update will be released? Will it be a software or hardware update? -
It will probably be a hardware update. But that still needs to be planned. It will probably take 3-4 months for that new hardware revision, though.
