No shaders in list

Can anyone help me with this?
Or possibly tell me how to back up all my meta data game list/hidden games etc so I can just put it back as was after updateing the retropie script?
I spent about 8 hours getting it all correct and dont really want to loose all that time!
I found the game list under the /opt/retropie/configs/all/emulationstation/gamelists/fba folder and the /home/pi/.emulationstation/gamelists/ folders but neither of these lists seem to relate to my game list :sAny help appreciated.

@Titchgamer Did you see this?...
Please do not post a support request without first reading and following the advice in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first
Posts like "latest Retro image" when the above states "do not write latest" suggest you didn't read it first like you agreed to. People are busy, so nobody is prepared to guess the information about your setup and spend time responding based on guesswork - it's not that people don't want to help you. Also, in order to aid readability, you should format your posts as requested. You don't even say which emulator you are using.
-
It says by the side of "latest image" (4.1) which I thought was the information you are asking for?
The emulator in question is Final Burn Alpha.
But as requested:
Pi Model or other hardware: 3
Power Supply used: 5v 2000mA
RetroPie Version Used (3.6, 3.8.1, 4.01 etc.. - do not write latest): 4.1
Built From: (Pre made SD Image on RetroPie website, Berryboot, or on top of existing OS etc..) Pre built image from retro pie
USB Devices connected: keyboard & speakers
Controller used: keyboard
Error messages received:none
Log found in /dev/shm/runcommand.log (if relevant): N/A
Guide used: (Mention if you followed a guide) N/A
File: (File with issue - with FULL path) N/A
Emulator: (Name of emulator - if applicable) Final Burn Alpha -
@Titchgamer You should post your retroarch.cfg file. It is located at:
/opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch.cfg
Inside that file, do you have this line set correctly?
video_shader_enable = "true"

@Titchgamer said in No shaders in list:
The emulator in question is Final Burn Alpha.
Wait, one other question? Which one? if it is PiFBA, then it is not a libretro emuator so there will be no shaders. There are 3 versions in retropie.

Rbaker, Thanks I will look now.
I am using the Liberto FBA. lr-fbalpha I think its called?
-
Just looked in the CFG and it is set to true.
Ive just tried updateing the retropie script which has re-enabled me to select the Shader I want but it has removed the kiosk mode so I am just updateing kiosk mode again to see if that works.
I will post up the CFG once it has finished. -
You should try enabling a shader for all lr- emulators by using
video_shader = "/opt/retropie/emulators/retroarch/shader/arcade-bezel-shader/crt-pi.glslp"
Also, check that the # symbol has been removed otherwise the line will be ignored. I can tell you that on a fresh install, with these two lines added, Shaders work out of the box. You mention Kiosk mode. I do not know what that is. If you have altered other things over time, there may be conflicts.
-
@Titchgamer Also, I notice that your Pi is under-powered. You need a 2.5A or greater supply to run a Pi 3 correctly with peripherals.

Ok I fixed this! :)
So for anyone that has this problem in the future this is what I have done:
- Update the Retropie script in the retropie config menu
- Set the screen resolution & shader I wanted to use in the config menu
- Update from source the kid friendly emulation station add on (I tried uninstalling it first but that bricked the image)
- Test everything is working, Which for me it now appears to be :)
Rbaker, Thanks for your input.
The kiosk mode I refer to is a experimental emulation station that allows the retro menu and a few other things to be locked out to make them child friendly.
I will also look at getting a bigger PSU.
Thanks.
