Bluetooth ps3 Controllers wont work
-
i have a new PI3 with retropie 4.1 With a bluetooth dongle and 2 sixaxis 3 ps3 controllers.
The problem is that the controllers won't work with bluetooth. I read many topics and tried a lot but it won't work.
If i install the controllers with a cable as told in many topics it will connect. and the lights flashes and the controller vibrates continuous.
When i go to the console i can see that the bluetooth dongle is connected successful. Who can help me... i have the latest version of retropie 4.1 and bought the controllers a week a go.

i have a new PI3
It has bluetooth built in. I am no bluetooth expert so you could have some conflicts going on if you are adding more bluetooth. Best to follow the advice in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first

@rbaker thanks for your reply, you're right, there is bluetooth inside the raspberry but it only works with an bluetooth dongle. That is what they say everywhere. The build in bluetooth can't find the controllers. i don't know why...

I connect my own PS3 gamepads with the built in bluetooth. No need for dongle. Please try to remove the dongle and do it like the guy in this video

@Xyb0t thnx. I'll try d it but it won't work. I have a clean version of retropie on my sd card and did exactly the same as the guy on the video without extra dongle. Everything goes fine till i remove the USb cable out of the controller to connect with Bluetooth. The leds are blinking but won't stop.
I'll did the same on another pi and another controller but still the same problem.

I got mine working with the sixad driver as per the video above. Not sure why it wouldn't work for you.
In the end I sold my PS3 controllers and used a PS4 controller. I find the D-pad nicer and the bluetooth setup with other devices a bit easier.

@scribbly why you have changed your email to
info@retropie.org.uk
I don't know - but change it back and verify it or your account will be removed.
