SNES Controlblock bridging latch & clock?
-
I've received my controlblock this afternoon and wired it up straight away. Everything seems to work perfectly but i've decided to bridge P2 latch & clock to their equivalent on the P1 side at the snes controller ports instead of running individual wires for eacht point to the controlblock. I was wondering if this has any downsides? Everything seems to work perfectly (with a really small delay but that could be because of my old lcd tv). Another strange thing, the led on the controller ports is turning on except i didn't wire it up? Is this normal?
Here are some photos to clarify what i'm saying lol:

Since you guys are so interested in my project lol here's an update. I've played a few two player games with a friend and we can't tell any difference. So i'll just leave it as it is. In the meantime i've connected my powerswitch and did some routing to my wires. Last step will be mounting a mechanical keyboard cherry mx switch i have left to a custom 3d printed plate so i can hook it up as a reset switch.

I can't help I'm afraid: it's a very neat looking interior on the console though! It may be better if it was posted in the Projects section of the forum-maybe contact an admin member and ask them to move it? They might say no, it's better here-worth a shot though.

The latch and clock signal can be shared between the player one and two ports.

This is exactly what I did. I used wire that was probably to thick so it seemed like an easier way to do it.
