Pixel Theme

@Serj-Targarien Hmmmm. So the theme breaks on newer versions of ES? I'll have to load it up and see if it's possible to fix the meta data. I'd rather not create a special version just for 4:3 displays since I have buried myself under a mountain of themes and versions of themes that I just can't keep up with changes people want me to make.
But I'll load this meta data version up and see if there's some tweaks I can do to make the meta data re-appear.

Hi,
I don't think it's to do with the resolution/aspect ratio, I'm fairly certain this is a problem with the new z-index support that was added a few days ago. My guess is the metadata is hidden behind some of the other graphics. I have the same problem on my themes and have posted an Issue on github.

@ruckage do you know if this is affecting all themes? I haven't updated Es from source in a few days so I haven't had a chance to test.
Thanks

Hi, I'm not sure. I'll check a few themes and see.
-
Yeah I just tested in 640x480 and meta data is visible. If something isn't broken, don't update it. Haha.
-
Just confirmed that your Metadata is missing in the latest version of ES (built from source).
The problem doesn't affect all themes it seems but I think yours and mine both use several layers of images which could be something to do with it. Not sure if it's worth fixing now or waiting.@TMNTturtlguy
I'll check your comic theme in a minute as well.
Edit: The comic theme seems to be unaffected. -
@ruckage interesting that it is happening to some and not others. Thanks for the update!
-
I have submitted a fix for the missing metadata. @ruckage was correct about the cause. The problem only effected detailed view, so if you videos, you would only see it if you were using a theme that does not currently support video.
-
@jdrassa should I build from source again to see if it is fixed or should I wait?
-
@Serj-Targarien
I'd go ahead and build from source again, if @jdrassa says he's fixed it I believe it's been fixed. -
@Serj-Targarien
I've just installed the updated ES from source and can confirm that it fixes the problem. -
Yeah, totally fixed now, you guys are quick. There's still a little problem with the players Metadata in 4:3 resolution in this theme, but I can totally live with it until I learn how to theme ES myself. Thanks for you hard work, guys.

@TMNTturtlguy @ruckage I've experienced the same problem on my theme after update.
All the stats are below the images , even though in my theme, I always load the the bg image first. Also all the the rating images (SVG) are below the bg image... -
I've said it before, and I'll say it again - I ALWAYS go back to this theme!
Here are those custom systems I was telling you about - I banged them out the other night.

But in the different subfolder you have for each games the pictures, boxart... which also appear?
-
Is there a separate "console selection" pixel sprite for snes, sfc and gensis, mega drive in this theme?
-
Where can I find a link to a updated github of this theme?
-
@SonPluck Pixel has images for Super Famicom, Mega Drive, Genesis, Turbo Grafx, PC Engine and many other EU/NA consoles. The download on the RetroPie theme downloader is the "updated" github.

How or where do I look for the icons folder to switch the default icons, if I don't know where the folder is in my over network folders... I don't know how to open folders thru terminal inside retropie either so... I have no idea how to do this (total newbie to this)
Like how I also tried to find runcommand.log thru the network folders, but that didn't work or i'm just blind.
Do I have to remove my sd card and see the files thru the computer, is that it? IDK! -

Are you interested in learning how to do that?
