Flat Theme

I like it! Clean and simple, easy to read.
-
@lilbud I liked it too! Please, go on!

Here is a new mockup
This shows where metadata will be and represents how the theme will look.

Theme looks nice and clean! And because I love internet points... Bruce Springsteen - Rosalita
-
@dam718 Thanks, didn't think anyone would get that.
Seeing Bruce live is absolutely breathtaking
-
What would you prefer?
Metadata on the sidebar, or leave it blank
-
@lilbud on the sidebar.
-
@lilbud metadata on the sidebar. Is the big area for grid view?
-
@mattrixk probably, haven't decided if I want to jump back into the rabbit hole that is grid view
-
@lilbud I'd like to, but I don't have a spare Pi for testing, or the patience for Ubuntu (I used to have to use Ubuntu for work. I dislike it immensely). So until jacobfk20 can make a windows version I'll unfortunately have to stay away from it (which sucks, because I really want to play around with it).
-
@mattrixk Why not try Linux Mint? ;-)
-
@mattrixk Whats so bad about Ubuntu? I heard it was pretty good
-
@lilbud Linux Mint includes some codecs Ubuntu does not have.
So you decide: Ubuntu or Linux Mint
Both are very good systems :)The Ubuntu-dislike is because of the man and the company behind. It is said that Ubuntu does not develop the kernel (for ex.) and just uses the Debian system. But all in all it is a succesful system and an easy setup ... made for everyone. I think that the real reason of dislike :)
But I can ask you: What do you like more? RetroPie or RecalBox?
-
@cyperghost Retropie, easier to understand, more support.
-
@lilbud I agree! I don't like the NOOBs loader ... so I don't like RecalBox :D
Stupid to ask :) RetroPie rox -
Ok, here is the concept for all views of ES.

Basic:
And, If I decide to go this route, Grid
There will be the standard footer help text, It is not here because this is simply a mockup.

I don't really like the Unix system in general. I hate how everything is permissions based. Also in ubuntu I couldn't find programs that acted they way I wanted them to.
Mostly for this though, I just don't like having to use virtualbox. It's annoying, I can never set it up perfectly, and it takes up too much space on my limited hard drive.
