      Hello!
So I've got my RPI3 up and running and have actually spent more time trying to scrap my roms then actually put it together and install RetroPie..

So my current issue is the stock scrapper won't scrap anything so I read others were using Universal XML scraper which gets about 50% of my roms scrapped.

So what I'm looking for is some suggestions.

      • Can I rename roms to get scrapped? If so where do I find the real name for the file?
      • Is there a scrapper like Universal XML that will let me manually search for a rom to change one? Or can I do that with Universal XML and I just don't see that option?

      Thanks

If you used UXS these last days, I have a little problem with the DB synchro... so it can't found everything.

I just release a new version correcting a lot's of bug about that ;)

        Try again ;)

(If you don't want to rescrape what you already scrape, just put the Scrape Mode to "update" ;) )

For the naming, normally, UXS use HASH so you don't need to rename them ;)

@screech I noticed you updated it and downloaded the new version this morning. I still have roms not getting scrapped.

So what would be my next step if UXS doesnt find a game for my roms?

          Thanks

@screech Sorry but still have roms not getting scrapped. I wonder if I can get the roms in question HASH and compare it to the correct ones name?

normally, if rom aren't found, you have a Missing.txt file ;)

Can you pastebin it here ? (I'll check and if your roms are OK, I will add them to the DB ;) )

The _xxx_missing.txt file generated near your gamelist.xml (where xxx is the plateform you scrape)

OK ^^ but I need all of them ^^ if you want I add them to the DB (so you can associate them to the game to be able to scrape ^^)

@BORIStheBLADE1 The fist thing you should do is to have a good set to start with. Stay away from Good_Nes and the likes.

                            No-Intro, Tosec & trurip

Stay away from Redump for cd based system if you don't want to end up with multiple *.bin files that you have to rebuild or audio tracks seperated from the image to conserve space.

                            No-Intro for consoles.
                            Tosec for Computer systems
                            Trurip for cd based systems

                            FBNeo rom filtering
                            Mame2003 Arcade Bezels

@Rion said in What to do about ROMS that won't scrap?:

                              No-Intro

OK.. Took me a few minutes to figure out what you were talking about. Now I get it.. Off to do some digging..

                              Thanks!!

OK I'm back. This is from a fresh good set from the suggested. This is a minus the non US roms, so basically all the US roms in the set.

Obviously I won't have all these roms but these aren't scraping.

Hi @BORIStheBLADE1 All the rom in your missing are already in the DB.
That's weird you can't scrape them.

Did you take the very last UXS version ? (the one from yesterday ?)

Ran some N64 roms and have five that won't scrap. Ran it two different times with your new software.
