So when I try to update my setup script it gives me this error
      Update failed:
Error: Your local changes to the following files would be overwritten by merge : platforms.cfg
Please commit your changes or stash them before you can merge. Aborting

I modified my platforms.cfg file during my first attempts to get my sega cd emu working properly without showing multiples of the same game. It looks like committing changes would be like uploading a backup? It asks me to identify myself by email or login when I try to commit. I tried to stash but it won't let me do that either. I'm pretty lost with these Linux commands. I don't understand why it wants me to save changes to a file when I already did upon first editing. Can someone please help?
