      Hey guys, I have a video splash-screen I made in adobe premiere. It's only a little over 15 seconds long and not graphic intensive at all. I placed it into the splash screen folder inside it's own folder like the readme text said. My problem is when I boot up it just skips the video and loads the emulationstation logo after the boot, when it did play it the video would cut off at the end and not play again on a second reboot. I made sure there were no spaces in the file name or folder but no dice. I am assuming that it has to do with my rendering settings in premiere, I have tried Quicktime at 1080p & 720p, h.264 at 1080p & 720p, and a windows media format at 1080p & 720p. Not quite sure what's going on here,any advice would be greatly appreciated thanks!

        @Retropie-Love possible video format issue or possibly related to this issue: http://blog.petrockblock.com/forums/topic/splash-video-not-loading-anymore/

          Yep it looks like I have that issue, and I changed my sleep # in the /etc/init.d/asplashscreen directory to 5, which helped it play now every time I booted, but it still cuts off before the end every time now too.

            @Retropie-Love you can try adding the text that was removed here: https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/pull/1099/files

              I made the asplashscreen file look the same, but I don't know where to find the first set of text. Do I just type it in before the preexisting text in the /etc/init.d/asplashscreen file? I am a total novice so I apologize in advance haha.

                @Retropie-Love it goes in /etc/profile.d/10-emulationstation.sh

                  So I used putty to copy over the commands to the emulationstation.sh file, but that actually just brought it back to not playing the video at all, and when I removed the lines it still won't play the video. Very strange...

                    @herb_fargus, @Retropie-Love I am assuming the code changed with 3.8 that just released because its a wee bit different on the /etc/profile.d/10-emulationstation.sh. I do like how all the updates that you stated have been updated into the newest code which is nice:) I am going to try to shorten my video splash screen from 20 seconds to 10 seconds. as it gets cut off just to see if it makes a difference.

                      @timbo198677 a simpler way is to remove the --layer 10000 from etc/init.d/asplashscreen
