Pi Model or other hardware: pi3
      Power Supply used: 5v2.5a
      RetroPie Version Used: 4.1.14
Built From: premade from the site
USB Devices connected: keyboard and a generic usb gamepad
      Controller used:
      Error messages received: None
      Guide used: https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/emulationstation#how-do-i-change-the-order-of-the-systems-in-emulationstation
      File: /etc/emulationstation/es_systems.cfg
      Attachment of config files:
      es_systems.cfg: http://pastebin.com/Dm0mpxLy
image showing it's not working: http://imgur.com/a/ik6xC

I tried to move the various system code chunks around so it was grouped by manufacturer and date. I've rebooted the system a few times to make sure that wasn't the issue too. I'm sure I'm just missing something stupid.

I haven't changed the theme at all but I am running the kids package if that means anything.

Thanks for the help in advance.

Looks like I may have found the solution.

I had to update the es_systems.cfg that's located in /opt/retropie/configs/all/emulationstation (same as /home/pi/.emulationstation) for the changes to take effect. I misunderstood the purpose of copying the file there. I thought it was for a backup.
