Ive downloaded the latest version of Retro Pie to my raspberry pi 3 and can't get the PlayStation emulator to work. I have updated all scripts changed the .Bin file to a .Cue and still nothing can anyone help please
-
You can't change the .bin to a .cue. You need both the .bin and .cue files for the ROM. Alternatively, you need the .pbp file from psx2psp. You also have to make sure you have the correct BIOS in the correct location.
-
@streetsweep Have you read this? https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/playstation-1 What you are doing will never work. It's best to read the instructions and follow the guide.
-
@liquidzoo I have both the spch1001.bin and the spch1001.cue in the BIOS
-
@streetsweep The BIOS file is a .BIN only, and the case of the file matters a lot in Linux. It MUST be SPCH1001.BIN (all caps).
If it's still not working, you may have a bad BIOS file and you should find another one.
-
@streetsweep Follow the guide posted EXACTLY. LInux is case sensitive.
-
So here's what I did I downloaded the PSX file from
i didn't read the forum rules and now I shall be publicly shamed
which gave me the SPCH1001.BIN I transferred it to BIOS over network to my retro pie that didn't work then I converted the .BIN to a .Cue and transferred that the same way without deleting the .BIN still didn't work -
@AlexMurphy I have read that and tried to follow it still nothing
-
@streetsweep Why are you converting anything to anything? Follow the official guide instead of making up your own.
-
@streetsweep Well, I'm sorry I can't tell you anything else other than to follow the official guide exactly as it is written. Anyway, good luck.
-
Does the .BIN go into a specific file in BIOS or just by its self
-
@streetsweep Just in the bios file. As the guide says.
-
I just need that guide simplified for me. I'm trying to get this done for my son's birthday in March and really need help
-
@AlexMurphy which file do I down load at the start of that guide all of them?
-
@streetsweep Which files are you referring to? The bios? You need SCPH1001.BIN. I thought you had this.
-
@AlexMurphy I do but at the start of the guide you gave me there are 3 there to download. I reformatted and starting from scratch
-
@AlexMurphy the ir-pcsx-rearmed the pcsx-rearmed or the bettle one
-
@streetsweep 2 of the 3 entries (4 total files) are the same...assuming you're using one of those 2 (recommended) emulators, you have the file you need.
-
@streetsweep The recommended emulator for PSX is lr-pcsx-rearmed so use SCPH1001.BIN. This might come as a lower case file name, if so, re-name it and place it in the BIOS folder.
-
@AlexMurphy so as long as I get the ir-pcsx-rearmed file the SPCH1001.BIN should be in there right
