I can't for the life of me figure out how to change the starting sound to be 100% instead of 77%. Any idea how I adjust that setting so I don't have to change it each time I boot?

@Ponny press start while in emulationstation. Go into sound setting. Scrollup from 77 to 100

I do that but I'd like to be set permanently. When I do it that way, it goes back to 77 on restart.

@Ponny this should fix it unless you use berry boot or noobs or something else im not familiar with. I only know the standard retropie image. you need to press f4 on a keyboard to to get to the command line. Then type:

            sudo chown -R pi:pi /opt/retropie/configs/all/emulationstation/

            then restart and change volume.
