PSX Saved Data - Memory Card Question...
-
SOLVED
I really hate asking you fine folks for help on what is most likely a dumb question but I cannot find an answer to a problem I'm having. I just started to focus on getting the PSX portion of my setup going and tested Castlevania Chronicles. The bin loads up fine but it checks for save data and then presents with me an infinite loop asking if I want to end load operations as there's no saved data. Regardless of selecting "yes" or "no," the loop continues.
I'm using the latest 3.6 install image on a Pi 2 B and the installed lr-pcsx-rearmed emu. I've dropped the 1001 bios into the /bios directory and have the bin in the /roms/psx directory.
I'm assuming I need a mem card file but see no info around this (I'm possibly blind). Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

Edit the save file locatio like https://m.reddit.com/r/RetroPie/comments/3dyki2/changing_the_location_of_savefile_directory_and/

thanks so much, worked like a charm! :)

@bugula Hello, I am experiencing the exact same issue that you had with Castlevania Chronicles with the infinite loop. I followed the instructions that mauruco pointed you to and I changed the save file location but the problem continues. Where did you relocate your saves to and did you do anything different besides what the instructions said?

Nothing I do to the /opt/retropie/configs/psx/retroarch.cfg file does anything for this same situation.
Attached here is my current "retroarch.cfg" file in the above dir. WHAT ELSE COULD I BE MISSING, is my question and thanks in advance to those who respond!
Settings made here will only override settings in the global retroarch.cfg if placed above the #include line
savefile_directory = /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/psx
savestate_directory = /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/psx
input_remapping_directory = /opt/retropie/configs/psx
#include "/opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch.cfg"

@SkeeterPi
-UPDATE-Managed to get in and play the game but didn't have time to end and save. I imagine it's working ok now.
Thanks
