I loaded Retropie onto an SD card and then loaded it onto my Raspberry Pi (2). Everything was working fine, I had loaded several ROMs onto it and they were playing no problem. I then took the card back to my computer (Mac running OSX) and when I plugged in the card reader, the contents of the card looked very different. There were no longer any folders, the card had renamed itself "boot" and had a lot of files I didn't understand (the first one is called: "bcm2708-rpi-b-plus.dtb" for instance). Interestingly, the card still works in the raspberry pi and I can still play the games that were already on there, but I can't add any new ones because the folders for the emulators are not visible. I tried to load Retropie on a new card, but I get the same weird "boot" with the same files and no folders. Please help!

@Iatronudist their is a linux partition on there that windows/mac cant read. Windows/mac can only read the boot folder. You need to use linux to view it

@edmaul69 Thanks for the help! How do I use Linux to view it? Are you saying that I can't view it on my Mac (because I was able to before), or is there some sort of Linux window I can pull up? Terminal?

There's a program for Windows called Paragon EXTFS that allows Windows to see the linux partition.
With that program you can drag and drop files on the sd card.
