I am attempting to run N64 Hi Res textures on my RPI3 and everything is set. I enable Hi res textures in Mupen64plus.cfg and save but when I run the game it overwrites the cfg file and sets it back to false and changes my full screen back to false. Is there are way to prevent that or am I missing a critical step? Thanks in advance! This is the guide I'm using https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/Optimization-for-Nintendo-64

I also read the previous posts in this forum that were the same type of issues, but those seem to revolve around controller settings and Im not sure if their resolution would work for my situation

@Jon10110 have you tried changing the config files permissions to 0644 to try to keep it from being able to overwrite it? Might have to manually enter controller settings in that file if you do though.

@edmaul69 I changed the file permissions and it still didnt work. I read somewhere that the configs folder @ /RetroPie/configs/n64 is just a shortcut to /opt/RetroPie/configs/n64 so I changed that one too but no luck. The system changes it back to what it decides is best and none of my changes stick
