Cardboard Mini NES + Nes mini and Famicom mini themes

@ruckage Finally had a chance to test out the theme. First off it's MUCH faster than the previous versions.
But, I am running into a problem with not being able to see the menu art (system selector art)... everything else works great.
Anyone else having this issue?
Thanks again for my one of my top 3 favorite themes!

@ruckage Absolutely amazing. This is my favorite Emulation Station theme ever. YOU KILLED IT!
Two things though:
- System logos on the main screen aren't working for me (I'm using a Pi Zero)
- Game names with accents and some other symbols don't display correctly. (i.e. Pokémon or 720º)
Otherwise, this is perfect.
I also added the NES Classic music using the tutorial you linked and runcommand splash screens to my build so it feels even more complete.

Installed the theme on the PI3 I use for testing/messing around on & all was good.
Until i updated RetroPie to the latest version then all (apart from Gameboy for some reason) the system logos on the main menu vanished.

I'll put it on the todo list, if anyone has requests for other systems let me know here.
Keep it up, but a small request as it seems many themes forget this but Kodi. I like kodi in its own menu. If that, ps1 and arcade are done, that pretty much covers everything I do with retropie. Maybe one day I'll look into how to to make a theme and add them myself as I'm quite handy with photoshop.

Thanks for the replies everyone.

I honestly can't understand why the logos wouldn't display, it works correctly on my Pi 3 with Retropie 4.1.
For those having this problem can you tell me what version of Retropie you are using. Also have you tried restarting the pi after changing the theme?- Game names with accents and some other symbols don't display correctly. (i.e. Pokémon or 720º)
This is a known issue and is due to the font only supporting ascii character set. To be honest, I don't know how I can fix this as I had a great deal of trouble getting the gamelist to display how I wanted it to due to a bug in ES textlist spacing and had to resort in the end to manually editing a font to make it work.
It may be that some of the characters are just missing completely in which case as long as they are part of the standard ascii set I can add those characters to the font.

Missing system logos: I installed the theme on a fresh install of Retropie (4.1). All was fine. After I updated to the latest version (4.1.17?) is when they vanished.
Tried restarting RetroPie , rebooting the Pi3 & deleting the theme & adding it again but still the same.
Think I might try a fresh install of RetroPie, update it to the latest THEN install the theme.

@DigitalMonkey
Thanks for the reply. I have another pi3 so I will put the latest retropie onto it and test myself as well though it sounds like something may have changed with ES in the latest version which has broken the theme :( -
Just tried installing RetroPie, updating to latest version & then installing the theme.
Still the same problem.
Best not update my other Pi just yet!

I've setup a test machine and testing myself as well. Everything works perfectly on 4.1 so I'm updating to the latest now and will be able see what happens myself though it's looking more and more like something has changed in the latest ES version.

I'll add them to the list - regarding 'Neo Geo Arcade' doesn't the Neo geo I've already added cover it as it doesn't specify AES or MVS? -
@ruckage Yea you are right. It was kind of a long shot. Wantet to configure fba to select Arcade Mode using uni-bios on a MVS Arcade Machine. Then use the other one you already made with uni-bios selecting NeoGeo Console mode.

Ah right. The background on the one I made is based on the arcade cabinets so probably suits arcade more anyway. I tend to associate Neo Geo with arcade more than home console as they were pretty much out of reach price wise for most people (though I really wanted one as a teenager).

@ruckage Me to. But the price was astronomical.

I know, £200+ for each game from what I remember (not sure what that would be today with inflation).

I always had an image of Wall Street stock brokers snorting cocaine off one while drinking puréed hundred dollar bills.

I'm on a Pi0 running 4.1.16 with no Logo Art.
The weird thing is though, the older version of your NesMini theme works like a charm...
I don't know enough about the coding language ES uses to dig into the code... but this may push me over the edge to kickstart my journey :)

I'm looking into it now. I've updated to the latest version retropie and the logos are missing here as well. However they work on the famicom-mini theme. Something must have changed in ES as they both worked in retropie 4.1 but I'm not sure why one works and one doesn't on the new version. I'm going to check through my theme.xml files and will try to narrow down what's different about the famicom-mini theme that allows it to work correctly.

WHOA I absolutely have to try this out!! Is this theme in the github repository? I feel like it should be, so it's easier to update and keep track of. You did an amazing job, ruckage. I'll closely follow this project!
Edit: small requests :3

Thanks for the replies everyone.
I think I've fixed the issue with the missing logos in the new version of retropie.
In the theme I was 'hiding' the logos on the gamelist screen by giving them a size of 0. Not sure why it would affect the system select as I wasn't modifying the size in that section of the theme and it clearly worked fine in the old version of retropie. My fix is simply to physically move them off the screen instead of setting the size to 0 which seems to work.
Give me a little while to update the theme with the fix and I'll upload a new version.
