Cardboard Mini NES + Nes mini and Famicom mini themes
-
@sergioad his icons arent based on videogame characters instead based on their system logo and system hardware, it makes no sense to add a character icon, it be out of place, this looks great IMO
-
I see, that is tru 😀 please advice me when the update lands on the themes repo

Hi. Not sure what you mean, can you post a link to the preview you're talking about?THis particular layout:
https://retropie.org.uk/forum/assets/uploads/files/1489358828580-arcade-preview-2.pngI couldn't find it in the readme and image you have bundled in the theme. If it's not included thats cool too

@jcarhat
Ah, I see what you mean. There is no layout that matches that I'm afraid, that preview is a bit of a relic from before a I re-vamped the theme and added the current layout support.
Originally the theme was only designed for NES which has vertical box art which filled that entire left window perfectly but once I started adding more and more systems it was quickly apparent that it wasn't suitable for most systems (or if you wanted to display screenshots instead of box art). For example if you imagine displaying SNES box-art in that area - it would either have to be badly stretched or have a huge amount of empty space. My solution was to restrict the artwork to a square window which would minimize wasted space. -

I've just finished adding basic game collection support ('Favourites', 'Last Played', and 'All games') to the Nes-mini and Famicom-mini themes. They should be available to download via the Retropie theme manager now.
-
@ruckage Hmmm. I updated the theme, but ES still says Game Collections is unsupported. Anyone else experiencing this?
-
@hyruleslink
Did you restart your system after updating? -
@ruckage Yup
-
@ruckage Awesome update! Thanks so much, had no problem after updating the theme.
@Hyruleslink All I did was update the theme, switch to the theme, enable the collections, then restart emulationstation. Worked great for me. Make sure emulationstation is updated too.
-
@hyruleslink
I've double checked on my test system and the update worked perfectly.
If you're still having trouble then maybe try uninstalling the theme then re-installing it.Out of interest have you changed the layout? I'm sure I read that someone else had problems updating after changing the theme layout.
-
@ruckage I changed my theme layout before updating. Was still able to update fine and enable theme collections no problem.
-
@mrjordaaany Yeah. Made sure Emulationstation and the RetroPie Setup Script were all updated and no dice. Bummer.
-
@mrjordaaany
Thanks for letting me know, that rules that out as a problem then. -
@hyruleslink Uninstall and reinstall theme as suggested then man. Other than that, not too sure what else to suggest.
-
@hyruleslink
Just uninstall it and re-install it, (uninstall it manually using winscp if necessary). If it still doesn't work then something else must be wrong on your system. -
@ruckage That seemed to work. Thanks! Looks great man!!! :)
-
I also updated the theme got my new systems but also got a free naked hot woman. This theme abso-fucking-lutly great!
-
looks very good. holding out for sega32x.
-
@ruckage I am enjoying your Famicom theme, I love pixel art and while there it is the Pixel theme I think your theme is (at least for my system and likings) is far superior and more modern while retaining that NES / Family computer style, thanks
