Pi Model or other hardware: 3B
      Power Supply used: 2,5A
RetroPie Version Used (eg 3.6, 3.8.1, 4.1 - do not write latest): 4.1.x
Built From: Pre made SD Image on RetroPie website
How to replicate the problem: type free on ssh

I have checked the existing retropie manager for its basic functionallity and found one issue on the memory statistic: It indicates about 500 MB free ram, but running free results in different value

      0_1487831516799_memory.png

      pi@retropie:~ $ free
total used free shared buffers cached
      Mem: 752852 675172 77680 11456 83572 387148
      -/+ buffers/cache: 204452 548400
      Swap: 102396 0 102396

      What is correct now?

Not even going to begin to pretend to know what I'm talking about:

But seems there may be some variation in representation depending on how you define buffers and caches in the so called free space:

@herb_fargus so understanding that correctly (also thinking on java jvm) the first line indicates that 675172 bytes are allocated by OS, but only 204452 bytes are used as "-/+ buffers/cache". Thanks for the clarification :)

I dont know much about diagnostics or what is technically considered "free" I suppose people define it differently.

It seems there is no shortage of raspberry pi dashboard projects:
