issues after installing kevins64gb image

Ok so here goes

Running kevins 64 gb image emulationstation4.1 attract 2.0

load all the roms everything is working in emulation station ..
i updated since installing to get a better version of kodi etc ...all of this without starting attract mode.

did a first reboot to attract mode ...
and start by generating rom lists one at a time
...find some match some dont ...thats not a big deal...(ive since resourced roms to better match provided art lists)

Now the problem is ..i can not generate a few of the rom lists as there is no selection in the emulators section ...
having issues with
game gear, dreamcast (stuck on config file), atari 2600, sega cd ,master system sega 32x not wanting to boot ...i am either getting a 0x500 error ....or just flashes back to attract mode ....even after deleting and re adding them to emulators

i am really wondering if somehow i am missing something in the command lines as i am adding the new emulator or do you need to edit config files as well to boot in attract ?
i notice floob adds the command lines much differently in videos then what are in the different emulator sections on this setup :example

i notice online watching floob he adds entirely different lines , and every emulator section in here has much the same setup files in each section as the ones that work

example nintendo works fine so i compare file setups and follow videos and forums to no avail ...yet all of these same non working systems will play fine in emulation station

thanks for any help guys ..really curious if others have had this issue as well with this image

1 ) can anyone provide the commands that are supposed to boot these systems ?
2 ) also the order of the wheel is set up really off : can it be changed to a different order ?
3 ) does anyone know if you have to edit config files through putty to make this work as it does in emulationstation ?

Third party images aren't supported here. You'll need to either seek support from Kevin, or install a copy of the official image.

i figured as much
as far as i understand he installed retropie 4.1 and attract 2.0 the only thing it has is some themes and art files added for attract mode and a few sections pre set up in attract mode ...no roms or bios files included ...i guess it was worth a shot of seeing if it mattered or not ...

i would still like to know with just a normal install of retropie 4.1 and attract mode 2.0 when you add the emulator in attract mode, which is working and playing roms in emulation station,
could it be that a .cfg file in attract mode just is not listing the start command properly ?

from what i understand attract is just an overlay and alternative that still references retroarch to run the emulators ?...or is this just a problem with supported emulators in attract mode thing?
