I have learned a lot and read as much as I can the past couple of months and have everything humming on my setup except one problem: Somehow whenever I boot it is picking up a controller that doesn't exist (and isn't in the config). I have added two PS3 controllers that are picking up, but they always register as P2 and P3. I have reset the config multiple times and continues to do this.

When I go to the libretro global config to 'hard assign' the controllers it lists a 'GPIO Controller 1' that doesn't exist (in case that helps). Even when I hard-assign them to P1 and P2.

If anyone has any idea or can point me to what should help I would be sincerely greatful! Everything is perfect and my dream childhood arcade is within reach - just this last piece!

      Thanks all!

The ghost controller is most likely your keyboard. I have the exact same experience here. You could try removing the USB dongle for the keyboard, reboot and see if the PS3 pads are detected as 1 and 2.

It was an issue for me because the PSX emu would not let me play, since the player1 controller was 'occupied', but i got around this by changing some config file, so controller 2 for player 1 and controller 3 is for player 2. Unfortunately i can't remember which config file it was. I am sure that someone would have this on the tip of their tongue.
