@FlyingTomahawk i sent an email. Thank you my friend.
-
Guess what showed up today.
Yes, the Mausberry. After exactly 2 months I received it. I almost forgot what I wanted to do with it. -
@FlyingTomahawk Oh wow. I still think that they forgot about your order until you filed a complaint with PayPal. It's a shame, but as someone said, there's not a lot of competition for those devices, so they can get away with it. :-/
-
@FlyingTomahawk I'll take it.

I have a bid in for a barely used, white AGB-001 with a soft case and wall adapter. Hopefully that doesn't get too astronomically priced before the auction ends tonight. Even the back is really nice.
While checking in on things on eBay I decided to look at Game Boy Light (MGB-101) listings, and wow. I thought the "light gray" Pockets were pricey. I think I'll stick with finding a decent Pocket and then backlight modding it myself.
Then again, it seems like pretty much all the Pockets I'm seeing are going for "a lot" (at least $30) if they're in working order where the screen doesn't have bad pixels, isn't corroded, has the battery cover, stickers on the back aren't mangled, etc.
-
Woo hoo! I won the auction for the white AGB-001! It was a little more than I wanted to spend, but bidding went up at the end, and well, it's the cleanest one I've seen in a while. I think for $30 I paid a decent price considering it comes with a case and AC adapter. Those soft cases are selling for around $8 - $13, and the AC adapters with the battery pack adapter are $20 - $23 right now.
Now to wait for it to come in the mail. Hopefully it doesn't take as long as a Mausberry…
-
Congratulations!
That white GBA looks very good. -
@FlyingTomahawk thanks! It's not as cheap as one at Hard Off I'm sure, but the air fare was cheaper 😉
You know, this is all your fault. Haha.
-
Just wanted to give you a quick update on your Famicom.
It is packed and ready to ship. I will go to the post office Thursday or latest Friday. -
@FlyingTomahawk cool. Thank you.
-
I realize a Switch is hardly retro. But I think I love this.
-
Hmmm...
Interesting, a retro design switch console.
Not that I ever would buy a switch but the idea is great if you could play retro games on it.Did you see my mail about the phone number?
If not, send me your phone number, i need to write a recipient phone number on the package papers. -
@FlyingTomahawk If they actually made a SNES Nintendo Switch, I would buy it in a heart beat. Well, if they start up the VC before hand.
-
@lilbud I can't even find anyone stocking a regular Switch, let alone a special edition one.
-
@obsidianspider I feel like Nintendo will make a special edition at some point, I think they missed out on a Zelda special edition. I think they should make an NES style Switch and release 3 of them to a random store in Bumshitsville, Kansas.
-
@lilbud I have to wonder what the hell they are thinking. They've been around for over 100 years. It's not like they don't understand supply chain management. Do they just hate money?
-
@obsidianspider It's probably a Wii situation, they didn't think the Switch would be successful with everyone and their mom having a Wii U. The Switch launch is more of a beta test. By this winter, more will have one and there will be games.
But if Nintendo charges us for VC games we already have, their sales will sink faster than the Titanic.

That's been their business model for quite a few years now. I remember when you had to pay for the web browser on the Wii, which was $5, but the smallest wii points gift card I could find was $10, so I bought the browser and Final Fantasy. They then ended up refunding my money for the browser after people complained. I probably still have those unused wii points on my account, but I haven't turned on my Wii since I started using RetroPie.

While it has been their business model, it makes no sense now. Having to pay to convert VC games to Wii U made sense, it was a whole new technology that needed a new emulator. HD support needed to be added, as well as off TV play and new controller support.
But with the Switch It makes no sense, HD support exists. The Switch has no special gimmicks that need to be programmed. I have alot of VC games, the reason I jumped to Retropie was because of not only having to pay for the VC games, but pay to transfer each one, if it was supported. If we have to pay again, that will be 3 payments for 1 rom file. With the money I've pumped into the VC, I could go out, buy the real system and game, and play it that way,
