Retro game stuff talk

Mario games are expensive if in good condition. Those count as collector items.
That makes sense, but since you've been instigating and offering to keep an eye out for stuff, I figured I'd ask. Don't worry about the games then
Tomorrow during lunch I will visit 3-4 shops that might have some Famicoms around, fingers crossed, and if I should find one I'll grab it for you.
Please don't go out of your way to look for one, or any of this stuff, really.
I was just looking through the Yahoo auction regarding the Game Boy Pocket (grey) and the cheapest I can find is 3000Yen. I should have taken the one for 1620Yen today. Even if you wouldn't take it I could re-sell it here for a higher price. Let's hope they still have it there the next time I visit.
Sounds like you're getting back in the video game business. ;)
-
No worries I like to go around those shops looking for treasures or things of interest.
I will take a picture of the stuff I still have from the video game business days. Out of my head, a Final Fantasy Game Boy Micro set, Mother 3 Game Boy Micro set, green Game Boy Micro, Famicom Game Boy Micro, 2x Zelda edition Game Boy Advance SP, Classic NES Game Boy Advance SP, old version Game Boy Famitsu skeleton edition. And a few more. Mostly new and never opened.
So I had/have my share of portable gaming stuff but that grey Pocket is interesting, especially because of its rare color.Sorry to drag you into this retro stuff, didn't mean to burden your mind with nonsense like that. We all should stick to our RPis which are more than capable to playing all those rare games. ;-)v

@FlyingTomahawk It's not a bother to me at all, but I feel bad for saying "Hey, what about this too?", but since you started it, and don't seem to mind, as I think of other things I think are neat, or would like to have, I'll share them here.
Those GBA sets you mentioned are highly sought after, so you certainly have some nice things in your collection.
I've thought about getting a Framemeister to allow me to play my old systems on a modern TV, but it's not that important to me to play games on the original hardware. I have dozens of CIB Super Nintendo games from when I was a kid, but for now they will stay in storage.
-
@obsidianspider that gameboy pocket is one of the few things i have never seen. That is a beautiful and awesome system.
-
I am still going around stores now but I took a couple pictures of stuff that you guys might go crazy. I almost fainted...stay tuned I'll upload later.
-
@FlyingTomahawk Oh man, I think we need a live stream of your lunch breaks. Good thing I get paid this week.
-
That would be cool. Might strap my GoPro around my head the next time. lol
Or I wish there was something like in the movie Strange Days that would also share the excitement that I felt. -
@FlyingTomahawk Now you really have me wondering what you found.
-
Keyword: Famicombox
And that is just one item of many.
Not sure what is going on but the rare stuff is pilling up in the stores recentely. Few months ago there was not so much stuff around.
Also took a picture of a naked, normal US SNES, they want 27000Yen for it! Crazy! -
@FlyingTomahawk I can send you a US SNES for way less than that. ;) They're fairly easy to find over here.
Mine from when I was 10 years old is now one of the ones that's discolored, but it still works. At least it did when I had a TV that would accept the video signal. (No, you can't have mine from when I was a kid.)
A Famicombox?! Did it also have the games for it? I thought I read that they had special DRM on those carts.
-
10 Games and gun included!
I'm eating right now and then I go check out 2 more stores. I could quickly upload the picture of the Famicombox. -
You still there? Or did you faint already. Hehehe....
-
@FlyingTomahawk 189,000Yen. Is that all? Lol
I'm still here, but it's almost midnight.
-
@FlyingTomahawk that is freaking awesome! I think i need to move to japan. So much awesome stuff.

Now you got me worried there for a second. I thought you gonna tell me to get that thing for you. ;-)
I was super excited to see it until I saw the price, that is where I almost fainted.
I know it's rare and old and all but c'mon $1650!! That is just ridiculous. But that ain't the tip of the ice berg yet. Look at the following images, especially the Atari Jaguar. -
Games, Games and Games
Retro Controllers
Famicom Arcade Stick?
Hudson Famicom Controllers
Famicom keyboard
Famicom Robot
Super Famicom Carry Case
Rare Dreamcast?
Wonder Mega by Victor $520! What the hell is that? Never seen before.
Gundam Char Gamecube plus some sort of box
Virtual Boy and a Megadrive with Mega CD
Gamegear CocaCola edition
US SNES for $235!
Boxed Famicoms and Super Famicoms
Famicom Disksystem Games
Mark III Games boxed!
NeoGeo Pockets
Atari Jaguar plus Jaguar CD / Price: $1880!
Now this one is a true treasure and worth more then it says on it.
Quiz: Can someone tell me what makes this Famicom so special? Why is it $120 without box and anything? That's it for today. What a fun trip that was today. I really enjoyed seeing all these rare consoles.
-
@FlyingTomahawk Only 780Yen for Mario 2 FDS? Nice.
I don't know what's special about the $120 Famicom. Do you?
-
Yes, 780 for FDS Mario.
Yes I do know. I was wondering if you guys are real retro boys. :-))
Let's wait until @edmaul69 reads it maybe he knows the answer. If he doesn't I'll reveal it.
Wonder when he's gonna move to Japan...hehehe... -
@FlyingTomahawk I had to look again. It's 3 AM and my eyes are tired and there was glare in the photo. It's a square button Famicom!

BINGO!
Its a real first generation Famicom. The one that was released most beginning.
Those rubber buttons were replaced later with round hard plastic ones.
