@edmaul69 It's really well done. What are you using for the FDS RAM Adapter? Does it actually do anything?
-
@obsidianspider my wii is modded. That is the 1tb hard drive i use on it. If i didnt have a hard drive I probably would have bought an actual adapter and modded it. Yeah i know that would make some people cringe. So i guess it could be called the famicom “hard” disk system.
-
@edmaul69 Nice. I need to look into adding a hard drive to my Wii. I soft modded it to add the homebrew channel a few years ago, but I understand things have come along quite a way in the last few years.

I was going over some of my bookmarked youtube videos and found the Evo Moment 37
An epic moment in game history for sure.And he did it again here
Even though he lost that fight he was capable to do the same thing again. Crazy.
One thing is sure it does motivate to dig out SF3 again and start get rid of the old dust on the arcade stick. -
@flyingtomahawk
I've never been into watching other people play games competitively but that was Impressive. -
It’s not done just yet, but I got some testing in on a new project today that you guys may like.
-
@obsidianspider looks nice. Whered the case come from?
-
Ha awesome! Vertical handheld!
Where did you get that? -
The case was 3D printed by a friend. There’s some controversy over the design and it was pulled from Thingiverse. When it’s done it should look like this. Unlike the NES Cart, this is not a low budget build.

Why? Didn't look like anything I remember. Resemble an old handheld too much or something?
-
@classicgmr Something like that
-
@obsidianspider soooo nice! I can’t wait to see the icon for that in your signature. 😜
-
@obsidianspider that is awesome! I still have my space invaders one. Not sure what happened to my ms pacman one though.

They messed up! They had one job to do and they bring us this ugly abomination.
The game selection sucks too. Who needs 4-5 different KOF games? Golf? Football Frenzy? Wtf?And look at that horrible design? The color selection is a nightmare to look at. Even obsidianspider could do a far better job.
If they do a mini arcade design then at least use the red MVS as template. Or they could have simply build a mini AES console.
-
@flyingtomahawk I partly agree with you. Note, there will be an international version available with blue coloring and 14 different games. The site I link is German, but that does not matter. You can see full list of international and regular version: https://www.gamestar.de/artikel/neo-geo-mini-retro-konsole-erscheint-im-sommer-in-japan-spiele-lineup-bekannt,3330796.html

@flyingtomahawk Thanks? I think?
I'm not sure how they came up with the cabinet design, but the KOF games are what most people think of when they think Neo Geo, well, that and Metal Slug.
-
Don't be so modest you would build a far better mini cabinet than they did. And they had all the SNK resources we could not get our hands on.
-
Interesting, die Deutschen sagen, 600gr weight the US boys say 390gr. With battery and without battery?
-
@flyingtomahawk The cabinet I'm working on was really designed by others and I am just building it, but I am liking how it's turning out.
I still have many unfinished projects in the works along with some other things in the mail that will be of interest to this thread, but they're not here yet. ;) -
That looks so tacky, they've reduced a stylish console/arcade machine to a toddler toy. Maybe it's a design that will grow on me and perhaps it looks better in person but I'm not convinced so far.
The international version does look slightly better but I still don't understand why they didn't just follow the nes/snes classic model and do a miniature version of the AES console. To differentiate it further they could even have a functioning cartridge slot with mini cartridges and they could have sold extra game packs - that would be really popular with collectors.
Hopefully the emulation is good this time though as I don't think people will be pleased if it has the problems of the NeoGeo X.
Contributions to the project are always appreciated, so if you would like to support us with a donation you can do so here.
