I have a new install of RetroPie (latest version.. 4.1? I think)

Set-up was fine, enabling SSH and wifi also a non-issue..

by question(s) stem from the lack of exposure to gaming/ROMs and RetroPie settings themselves. Hoping to get some help/enlightenment here...

I am not sure if this ia global setting in some config somewhere? or is this sort of thing has to be done in some settings/config on a PER GAME basis... but:

      I have only downloaded/transferred the ROMS/GAMES

      Street Fighter 2
      and
      MegamanX

(actually I also did a Marevel vs Capcom and StreetFighter3 (alpha) download, and transferred those to the MAME directory, not mame4all but the only other MAME directory that is there by default, and the emulator/games did not show up)

Until I wrap up my my laser cut mini arcade cabinet stuff.. I am currently just using some of my kids XBOX (one) controllers.

One works.. but the 2nd player has never worked?

I cant even troubleshoot if its the controller itself that doesnt work? Or some setting that isnt enabled.
I get odd messages when trying to configure the controllers).. where it always says things like hit F4...etc but my keyboard isnt even connected? And some settings/screens can only be navigated by the keyboard.. even though I was using a controller on a previous screen? I'm not sure if I have something set-up wrong during my initial install and it asked about a keyboard?

Sometimes it states 2 controller/gamepads detected.. when I only have 1 thing plugged into USB?

Summary of the wall of text above:

      • How can I get 2nd player xbox controller working/recognized? (is there a driver to update as well to recognize other xbox controllers? OUTSIDE of any config settings?)

      • Is there a way to remove this keyboard entry that seems to always been 'seen' even when not plugged in?

      • speaker on 2nd player? Is there anything that needs to be done for enabling 3 or 4 players even?

      Thanks!

      specs:

      Raspberry Pi 3
RetroPi 4.1 (current image as of this writing)
32GB HS Class 10 microSD card
Xbox One controllers x 2 (only 1 works)
Game tried 2n player in: Street Fighter II - The World Warrior
