Can't control menus in Kodi v17 with Retropie 4.2

After upgrading to Retropie 4.2, I can no longer control the menus in Kodi. I've tried my iBuffalo SNES and Xbox One controller. I've even tried re-installing Kodi manually. Anyone else experience this?

I did earlier today when I upgraded to Kodi 17.1, but I used the keyboard to get into Kodi's input, peripherals settings and was able to map my Xbox360 controller there in the KODI UI and it's working fine.
