      Hi all,

      i'm trying to insert two sounds in menu, one for scroll systems in carrousel and one for when you select. but it plays nothing, both of sound files are in 44100 hz, mono, 16-bit, and i'm using this tags in main xml.

      can someone help me?

      thanks

              <sound name="systemscroll">
      	<path>./_assets/scroll.wav</path>
      	</sound>

      	<sound name="systemselect">
      	<path>./_assets/select.wav</path>
      	</sound>

        If your using the main branch I think that only two sounds are available, and those aren't them.

            I haven't tried to set sounds yet, but i know you can set them to launching roms, so it is on my to do list. if it is possible to set the sounds per your text, did you try to "tab" the path in? sorry for typing this but did you try this?

            I have been trying to hunt down a list of things you can assign sounds too, and the proper "name" for them. No luck yet, but that would help us out in pointing them to the correct things.

              	<textlist name="gamelist">
              		<scrollSound>./art/sounds/scroll.wav</scrollSound>
              	</textlist>

              	<sound name="launch">
              		<path>./art/sounds/launch.wav</path>
              	</sound>

              This is how i have sounds on my theme and they both do work, also as far as i know this is the only two sounds we have avaliable.

              Also these are both under "basic, and detailed".

              <scrollSound></scrollSound> is for the gamelist.

              <sound name="launch">
              </sound>
              is for launching a game.

                @Syhles I believe you are correct, I just found this on Github from back in 2014 when they changed the way sounds worked. Interesting change, but there must have been a reason for it.

                  Only the scrolling Sound works. Unless you are using the Recalbox branch... all the sounds work in theirs.

                    Launch works, at least before the carousel update it. Haven't checked.

                      @Syhles Woo nice. That must have been added since I made the pixel theme. Cause it sure didn't work back then :D

                        Yeah, just brought up es, the sound still works, I updated the day the carousel update was merged.
                        Launch is its own command it is separate from gamelist.

                          @Syhles i assume we can apply the launch sound at the theme level so it is different for each system? Thanks

                            I imagine so, you would just apply it on each system individually, in "basic, and detailed"

                              so, just to see if i follow, the only two actions i can isert a sound is when scrolling in gamelist and when i lauch a game?

                              no wonder why this is the only two actions i have success to insert sounds :D

                              thanks guys
