Possible to use the U-HID nano with Retropi?

planning on throwing a Pi3 in an Outrun upright cab and use the Uhid to convert the analog steering and pedals (potmeters) to digital input

I've only seen one other person ask about this device. There was no one at the time who had tried it either. It should work throughout RetroPie without much of a problem, but someone's got to be the first guinea pig. From what I understand, it will take whatever is connected and relay it to the system as if it were a standard USB game controller. I'd wager that if it doesn't work out of the box that it could be made to work reasonable easy. If you do end up getting one, please post your findings back here for anyone else who may have questions about it in the future.

i just tried to connect it, it gets recognised on bootup as a gamepad, but does not respond to any input at all....

You may be able to make the system believe it's a standard XBox 360 controller using xboxdrv. I've put together a guide here. It may look a bit intimidating, but you'll have somewhat of an idea if it'll work within the first few steps. If it's something you explore, I'll be around to answer questions. This is an interesting device that I've thought about purchasing myself.

We'll see what we can do. The worst that can happen is that it doesn't work. Actually, the worst thing that can happen is that we all die horribly from an explosion at a ball bearing factory, but my therapist keeps telling me that it's highly unlikely.
