      @zod041 I'd recommend cgenius for commander keen

      as far as dos games go, follow the docs, not some random bloke on youtube.

        That's odd. My commander keen 1 works on dosbox. What version of keen do you have? Is it an original copy or something that was resold like a "GOG"-ish version?

          @tyreal90 I just updated the docs with some more details on the versions of commander keen that run on commander genius:

          https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Commander-Keen/

          It would be interesting to do a comparison of compatibility and performance between dosbox and cgenius

          If you read the documentation it will answer 99% of your questions: https://retropie.org.uk/docs/

                      @zod041

                      Zod, I understand your frustration at something not working.

                      The pi at its very heart is for tinkerers. For the retropie team to make every game plug and play with different versions would be impossible and not a task they should be doing when their time is already spread thin.

                      below is general documentation on how you can change the settings for dosbox and what those changes do. you can edit this file from the filemanager which shows it in the folder ./dosbox when you open the filemanager. play around with the settings and see what you can get to work. i havent gotten all my games to work but many that didnt at first do with some tinkering.

                        @zod041 you dont want to run dosbox games off of your hard drive. They are slow as hell if you do. They are far faster on the sd card. Everything else i do plays fine on the hard drive.
