New NES overlays

It also depends on monitor/TV size of course. What are you using ?
The smallest TV I use for console games is 32". :-)
-
@meleu Ok, then we can further squeeze that text ;-)
-
Maybe a Tombs and Treasures overlay?
-
@space-cadet
I've actually never played Tombs and Treasures but I put together a split box art overlay/bezel:
I didn't have time to test it but let me know if it works!
-
Thanks man! Yeah it's a point and click game. One of my favorites!

the weakness of the Mr. X and Dr. Willy castle bosses is an important info. Maybe with just one line for weakness you can put them in the overlay.
Updated Draft: graphics resized & repositioned; all bosses now included.
Please let me know if layout is ok and if text still readable.If so I'll finalize the overlay by creating transparent background (replacing white) for Bosses
and optimizing text and images alignment and spacing. -
@UDb23 will test on my 32" screen and give you a feedback. Thanks!
-
@UDb23 OK man! Tested here and looks really fine! As you said you will optimize the text, I think it'll look even better!
Huge thanks dude!
(by the way: regarding the resolution stuff, I use FCEUmm and QuickNES. Unfortunately Nestopia doesn't work with retroachievements.) -
@meleu My NES overlays so far are created for lr-FCEUmm resolution and so is the Mega Man 6 one. Should therefore fit your needs. The "overscan"setting issue does not impact actual overlay resolution as far as I know.
Going to optimize text and make Boss images transparent this evening ;-)

Mega Man 6 complete Art Pack available now in the Ovl Repo!

Have fun!!

@meleu Was able to slightly increase font size; from 10 to 11.
Images and text realigned for better readability.
All Bosses with transparent background now.
;-) -
@UDb23 Wow! This is awesome!
This might make @meleu sad but I never got into Mega Man on the NES. I remember renting one of the games but I just didn't like it. Now I have a reason to give them another chance!
A good friend of my back from my college days wrote a program in BASIC that can generate passwords for just about every Mega Man game from NES, GB and SNES. Here's the site but the download link doesn't work anymore:

Do you plan making for the others?
-
@UDb23
Here's a screenshot:And the launching art is so beautiful that I almost cried when I saw it! Huuuuuge thank you!!

LOL
How could I leave you without ?Even more if you ask like
-
Glad you like it !
Even if I knew the name, I never played Mega Man series games before discovering Retropie. With all the knowledge I now have about Bosses & weaknesses, I got to try these games !!
Will start looking at the other titles soon; hoping they don't have so many Bosses ;-)

If you let me choose the next, I'd say Mega Man 3. :-)

Mega Man 3
8 Robot masters and 17 Bosses !! They would not fit all...
Would just bosses be ok ? -
8 Robot masters and 17 Bosses !! They would not fit all...
Oh yeah, you're right. In Mega Man 3 we have to defeat the "spirit" of the Mega Man 2 bosses in other robots (or maybe the software in another hardware)... Well, OK. Only the robot masters would be nice too. :-) Thanks man!
-
@meleu : Mega Man 3 ready !
