Videos in System View?
-
@fieldofcows @pjft @jdrassa @Zigurana would it be possible to modify ES to allow a video to play in the system selection view? What I would love to be able to do have a single video play for each system as you select it on the carousel. Currently you can set images this way, but now video. My thought would be to place a video.mp4 into the .art folder for each specific system then place the video within the theme.xml for each theme. This way i can have a specific video for each system.
I have no skills in this type of coding and compiling, so i am not sure if this is possible, and I know something like this probably will take a lot of time and effort, so this is simply a wish list feature that would surely elevate theme creation for ES and i would be very grateful for any help. I of course will be willing to test out any builds if and when you might have time. Thank you!

Kinda like attract mode?

I also like this idea. We already have an
<image extra="true">
tag, so also having a<video extra="true">
tag would be awesome. -
It is definitely possible and I may try to implement at some point. It is on my long list of ideas.

@jdrassa
If you do it, it would be nice if the <video extra="true"> tag for video wouldn't be tied to the video view, as in having videos on the System screen doesn't put the gamelist view into video view when only have images available for the gamelist. -
@Syhles Agreed, should be independent.

@pjft yes, an independent video that can be placed in the art folder of each system and set pet system in the theme.xml is my Vision. I have a really cool theme idea for this and have the perfect videos downloaded and waiting to be set! Thanks everyone for supporting this thought!

Has there been any progress on this? I'm also interested in having video in the system view.
