    Can you manually change a MAME high score?

      So I was playing Galaga on my Raspberry Pi 3 and I typed the wrong name for the highscore. Is it possible to change the high score or the name through the Galaga.hi file? if so how can I do it?

      I'm using a mac and I tried opening the file with TextEdit but it just shows dollar signs. I also tried using a hex edit software. I can't figure out how to do it. I am running it on Mame4all.

      Any advice would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

        It's possible, but its also a very involved procedure that involves debugging code and hex editing. If you aren't properly scared away yet, here's a link that describes how to achieve this with just one game out of many variations...
